Mrs. Lillian Malone, 81, member of a prominent pioneer Mt. Vernon family and the widow of John Malone, a
barber, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday (5
Oct 1953) at
the Alison Nursing Home in Poseyville. Mr.
Malone died 30 years ago.
Except for 18 years during which she resided with a sister, Mrs. Nettie Wilsey, in Miami, Fla; Mrs. Malone had spent her life in her
native Mt. Vernon. She returned to Mt. Vernon from Florida six years ago. She had been ill
for two years and bedfast for the last year.
The body is at the Weisinger Funeral
Home and will remain there through the funeral service at 3:15 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Weisinger chapel. Burial will be in Bellefontaine
cemetery. Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and
Reformed Church will conduct the services.
Surviving are a son, Chaffin Malone, Mt. Vernon, and a nephew, Miles Wilsey,
Miami, Fla.
The deceased was
a daughter of Smith Bloomer and Henrietta Bacon Bloomer. The dwelling on
the southeast corner of Mill and West Fifth streets is the original Bloomer
home.
