WILLIAM LAMKIN

 

March 4, 1954

 

William Lamkin, 85, a retired farmer and a wel--known resident of Point and West Black townships for many years, died at 1:30 a.m. today at the Alison Nursing Home in Poseyville.

 

He was a native of Franklin county, Ill., but had resided in Posey county move of his life.  For many years he lived on the Black township side of the Black-Point line at Hovey.  He was a member of Point township lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and took an active role in Democratic politics.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home in mt. Vernon and will remain there through the funeral service at 2.p.. Saturday in the Weisinger chapel.  Burial will be in Old Beech cemetery in East Lynn township.

 

Surviving are the wife, Nadine; a son, Clyde , Westville, Ill; a brother, John Lamkin, Dale, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. Nola Summers, Benton, Ill., Mrs. Nancy Spain, Topeka, Kas and Mrs. Molly Duckworth; Tovey, Ill.  A grandson, Clyde Edward Lamkin was a World War II Gold Star.
