WILLIAM A JOHNSON
Bill graduated from New Harmony High School in 1943. After serving
in the Army Signal Corps, in both the European and Pacific theatres during
World War II, he graduated from the
In his retirement years, he enjoyed fishing with his son, golfing
and dancing with friends, and working around the beach house. Bill and his
wife, Kay, spent many winters in their mobile home on the family farm in New
Harmony, hunting with his brother and nephews, spending time with their niece,
watching their great-nieces play basketball and going out with old friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Katharine
(Kay) Johnson; his parents, Alvin P. and Geraldine S. Johnson, and an infant
brother.
He is also survived by his son, Robert Johnson and his wife,
Kathy, of St. Augustine; one niece, Judy K. Stallings, of New Harmony; two
nephews, Rick Johnson and his wife, Debra, of New Harmony and Jim Johnson and
his wife, Beverly, of Dallas, Texas; grand-nieces and nephews, Mary, Amy and
Lori Stallings, Lesa Trela,
Alisha Noffsker, Timothy Kahle and Adam Morgan; great-great-nephew Bryson Ford Trela and special friend, Pat Hendrix, of Jacksonville.
Graveside services will be held on Jan. 9 at
