ETHEL STURM JEFFRIES

Mrs. Ethel Sturm Jeffries, 67, R. R. , Mt. Vernon, widow of Herman S Jeffries and a highly respected life-long resident of the Mt. Vernon vicinity, died at 6 a.m. today in an Evansville hospital.

 

She had been ill for the last five years and seriously ill for the last five weeks.  The husband, a well-known farmer of the Upton vicinity, died four years ago.

 

Funeral plans were incomplete at noon today.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home and will remain there until it is taken to Welborn Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member, for the funeral service.  Burial will be in Black cemetery.  Rev. Paul Howard, minister of the North Mt. Vernon Methodist Parish, probably will be the officiating clergyman.

 

The deceased was a daughter of Benjamin F. Sturm and Josephine Alldredge Sturm.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fred Leasure and Mrs. Victor Stauber, Chicago, both of whom arrived in Mt. Vernon last week, called by their mother's critical illness; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ben Curtis who is enroute here from Tucson, Ariz; and a brother, Raymond Sturm, Mt. Vernon.
