Alex Hutchinson, 82, Black township justice-of-the peace for 11 1⁄2 years
prior to resignation, deputy Black township trustee for the last three years
and a local barber for 25 years, died at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday (2 Jun 1954).
His long associations with the public made him one of South Posey county's most
widely known citizens.
Death came to Mr. Hutchinson at the home of G. Edward Behrens, Black township trustee,
and Mrs. Behrens at
Mr. Hutchinson's wife, nee Hattie B. Klotz, a sister of Mrs. Behrens, died
seven years ago and for most of the time since her demise Mr. Hutchinson had
made his home with Mt. and Mrs. Behrens.
He suffered the first of two strokes on May 19, rallied somewhat only to suffer
a second stroke and then gradually worsened. His condition had been
critical for several days.
