Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Lura Watson Hardwick,
81, prominent Mt. Vernon resident and widow of Dr. Robert L. Hardwick, a
practicing Mt. Vernon physician for many years today awaited the arrival to Mt.
Vernon of a daughter, Mrs. Eugene E. Highman,
Pasadena, Calif.
Mrs. Highman, who left her mother's bedside after a
recent visit to be with ill husband in
The body of Mrs. Hardwick is at the Weisinger Funeral
Home. The family request is for no floral offerings. (Burial
was with her husband in
A series of paralytic strokes extending over a period of nine weeks during much
of which time the deceased was hospitalized and which were the climax of
failing health for several years, proved fatal at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at the

Dr. Hardwick died 14 years ago.
Mrs. Hardwick was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Martha Hunter
Guild of the church. A gracious sympathetic personality had endeared her

The deceased was a native of Clay, Webster county,
Surviving in addition to the daughter, Mrs. Highman,
are two grandson, Robert and Glenn Highman, and two
great grandsons, Richard Lee and Robert Highman, Jr all of Pasadena, and a brother Thomas Watson, Clay, Ky.
A daughter Mrs. Adelaid Hardwick Behrick is deceased.
