whose reputation for industry and integrity were of the first order, will be
conducted Tuesday afternoon.

Rev. J. Kenneth Forbes, minister of First Methodist church, of
which the deceased's wife is an active member, will conduct the funeral service
in Short-Niehaus Chapel at
Surviving are the wife, nee Mildred Blackburn, whose marriage to
the late deceased took place in 1925; a sister, Mrs. Alfred Bitterman,
"Gib" Goodwin was born on a

The late deceased's formal education was terminated by his intense
desire to engage in farming while he was attending
The same burning love for the soil distinguished his very
successful career as a farmer. Strong of physique, progressive in his
acceptance of modern farming methods and willing to expend the required amount
of work in transforming his plans into actuality, he became one of Posey
county's very successful agriculturists.
He continued his residence in his native
The deceased had been a member of Mt.

never aspired to public office, he was an ardent Democrat not only in principal
but in part service.
