August Gentil, 64, dean of Mt. Vernon
restaurant owners and for 30 years a restaurant owner-operator at various
locations in the local business district, died unexpectedly at 10 o'clock
Sunday night in St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.
He had been ill of a heart condition since Easter but made pies
for Sunday customers of Gentil's Restaurant at 132
East Second street early in the day. His
condition worsened during the day and he entered the hospital by ambulance
Sunday afternoon.
The deceased had owned restaurants at various locations on for 30
years and since 1953 had been at the 132

who had been closely associated with her husband in his business; three son,
