CHRISTINE FURST

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon for Miss Christine Furst, 80, a native of Germany who resided for many years with her half-sister, the late Mrs. George Bernd, in the Mt. Vernon vicinity.

Miss Furst died Friday (15 Feb 1957) night in Allison Nursing Home in Poseyville where she had been a patient for almost two years.

Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, conducted the funeral service in Short-Niehaus Funeral Home chapel and officiated at rites at Bellefontaine cemetery.

The deceased came to Posey county from Germany when she was 15 years of age with her parents, Christian and Elizabeth Furst.  The late Mrs. Fred Keitel was a sister of the deceased.

Nearest surviving relatives are nieces and nephews - Mrs. Elizabeth Black, Mrs. Wilbur Baldwin, Mrs. J. H. Sherlock, Mrs. Ann Fleming, Mrs. August Reineke, Mrs. George Wagner, Henry Bernd, John Bernd, William Keitel, Alvin Keitel, Fred Keitel, Carl Keitel, Paul Keitel, and John Keitel.

Pallbearers were nephews and husbands of nieces,  August Reineke, Alvin, Fred, Paul and John Keitel and George Wagner.
