Mrs. William Fisher

Mrs. Nannie Omsby Fisher, daughter of John and Martha Utley was born August 18, 1870, and passed away at her home in Louisville, KY. November 30, 1937, aged 67 years.

She was united in marriage to William Fisher September 16. 1888, and to this union two daughters were born, Cora and Estel the latter having died when two years of age.

She united with the Primitive Baptist church at this place shortly after her marriage and remained steadfast in that faith through the years. She spent all her early life here where her kind and friendly disposition won for her many friends. The last fifteen years, she spent in Louisville but she enjoyed coming back here to visit her friends and attend the church she loved. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and when health permitted, was always willing to render any service possible to those who needed her help.  She suffered a paralytic stroke about two years ago and has been in poor health since bearing her affliction with patience and Christian resignation.

She leaves to mourn her going away the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Emmett Tucker, with whom she and Mr Fisher, lived, a brother, William Omsby of Mt. Vernon, three grandchildren, Mrs. Venessa Travis, Mrs. Sylvia Ashby, and Mrs. Marjorie Board, of Louisville, KY, and four great grand-children beside other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at Griffin in the Primitive Baptist church Thursday afternoon and were in charge of Elder Barnett, of Eldorado, Ill., with internment in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

Those accompanying the remains here from Louisville were the husband, the daughter and granddaughter, Mrs. Sylvia Ashby.
