WILLIAM FRIER

Funeral services were conducted in San Antonio, Tex., today for William (Boss) Frier, 77, for many years a cigar manufacturer and civic leader in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Frier died Friday (24 Apr 1953) noon at his home at 1543 West Gramercy Place, San Antonio.

The funeral service this morning in the Porter Loring Funeral Home chapel in San Antonio preceded burial in Sunset Memorial Park there.

Mr. Frier had resided in San Antonio for the last 22 years.

He was a native of Illinois.  From 1895 to 1920 he was a cigar manufacturer in Mt. Vernon.  In 1920 he moved his business to Evansville where he lived until 1927.

Surviving are the wife, Vivian Steele Frier, San Antonio; a son Lawrence M. Frier, San Antonio, by the first marriage to the late Lula Lawrence, of Mt. Vernon; a stepson, Ebert Jones, San Antonio; a granddaughter, Peggy Louise Frier, San Antonio, and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Schlomer, Detroit and Mrs Ben Pues, East St. Louis, Il.
