Mrs. Eunice Edson De Vol 92, a representative of two of Mt. Vernon's most prominent early families and the widow of Clarke De Vol died at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Protestant Home for the Aged in Jeffersonville, Ind.

The body will reach the Weisinger Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon early Friday from the Coots Funeral Home in Jeffersonville where funeral rites will be held at 4:15 p.m. thursday.  A brief service at 1 p.m. Friday in the Weisinger chapel will precede burial in Bellefontaine cemetery.

A son, Merwin, and daughter, Mary, are deceased.  Nearest surviving relatives are four grand children, Mrs. J. D. Farris, Thomas C. De Vol and Mrs. J. K. Meyer, Louisville, Ky and Mrs. U. B. Goeser, Fort Sheridan, Ill and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. De Vol was born in Mt. Vernon, a daughter of Joseph Edson and Mary Nettleton Edson.  Following the death of the father her mother married Judge Milton Pearse, prominent Mt. Vernon barrister.

The late deceased's maternal grandfather, William Nettleton, was Mt. Vernon's first mayor, elected in 1866 following the city's incorporation late the preceding year.

She was married in Mt Vernon to Clark De Vol, a native of New Albany, who was at the time of the marriage an office employee of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Co., in Mt. Vernon.  Later, Mr. De Vol was in the drug store business here.  A few years after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. De Vol moved to Louisille where Mr. De Vol reentered the employ of the L&N.

Following her husband's death, Mrs. De Vol returned to Mt. Vernon and resided here a number of years.  She was affiliated with First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon.
