Mrs. Anna Orth Deig
who would have been 83 years old on the coming July 3, died very unexpectedly
at
The prominent Marrs township deceased
was a representative of early Marrs families and the
widow of Andrew Deig, a farmer and supervisor of
county highways in Marrs township for many years.
He died in 1934. In recent years, Mrs. Deig
had resided with her children.
The body is at Pierre Funeral Home in
Mrs. Deig was a life-long resident of Marrs township. Her parents
were Jacob Orth and Hulda Henstenberg Orth.
She was a devout member of St. Phillip Catholic Church and a
member of the Poor Souls Society of the church.
Mrs. Orth is survived by 81 direct
lineal descendants.
The survivors
include eight sons, George, Oscar and Leo, Evansville, and Andrew, Henry,
Clarence, Edward and Orville, Marrs; three daughters,
Mrs. August Schieber, of near E vansville,
and Mrs. Albert Schell and Mrs. John Niemeier, Marrs; 33 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren; two
half-sisters, Mrs. George Heil, Vanderburgh county,
and Mrs. Edward Kuebler, Marrs
township; a stepsister, Mrs. Alvin Lynn, Marrs, and a
stepbrother, George Hast, Marrs.
