WILLIAM E DAUSMANN

William E. Dausmann, 70, a retired blacksmith and mechanic and life-long resident of
South Marrs township, died at 6:30 a.m. today at his home on R. R. 1, Mt. Vernon.

He had been in failing health for several years.  For many years the Dausmann family operated the blacksmith and machine shop on the old Mt. Vernon-Evansville state highway, selling the shop in 1945 to the present operators, Ritzert and Knox.

The deceased was a member of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church and
Mt. Vernon lodge No. 49, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

The body is at the Short Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt.
Vernon and will remain there until it is taken to Immanuel Church for the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.  Rev. Theodore M. Haefele, Immanuel pastor, will conduct the services.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The wife, Christina Meinschein Dausmann, survives.

The deceased was a member of a prominent Marrs township family.  His parents were Henry J Dausmann and Elizabeth Seibert Dausmann.
