James Andrew (Andy) Darnell, 70, a life-long South Posey county resident and a
skilled boilermaker who was for 38 years an employee of the former Keck-Gonerman co., died at 11:45 Sunday (17 Feb 1957) at the L.& R. Nursing Home in New Harmony.
His residence was at
Prior to his entrance of the nursing home three weeks ago, he was a patient in
Mr. Darnell never full recovered from injuries suffered in 1952 when his auto
was struck by a Louisville & Nashville Railroad train at a crossing
northwest of

Survivors include the wife whose marriage to the late deceased took place 50
years ago the coming Oct 19; a son, Andrew Marvin Darnell, Mt. Vernon; two
daughters, Mrs. Ben Kester, R. R. 2, Poseyville, and Mrs. Alfred Ashworth, Chicago; a
granddaughter, Betty Terry, Evansville, and a brother, Oscar Darnell,
Evansville.
