OBITUARY OF WILLIAM BOYLE
The funeral of William Boyle, mention of whose death was made in
the Argus last week, was held Friday afternoon at Mt. Pleasant church, the services being conducted by
the Rev. L. H. Graham, pastor of the Christian church at Poseyville.
Interment was made in the family lots in the cemetery near by.
William T. Boyle, the son of Robert and Nancy Eaton Boyle, was
born March 31, 1847 and left this earth March 8, 1932. Had he lived a few more days
longer he would have reached the ripe old age of 85 years. William is the
last of the family of nine children to enter into another plane of existence in
the great beyond. He was born and reared on the farm a mile south of
Cynthiana where he lived until a few years ago where he lived until a few years
ago when he felt unable to carry on the farm work.
April 19, 1871 he was united in marriage with Maria H.
Calvert, of Vanderburgh County. To this union were born three
children, Ottie, who died in childhood, India, who has been at home with her father,
and John C., who with his wife and two dear boys have their home in Winter Haven Fla. At about the age of 17 he made the
Good Confession and was baptized into Christ by Bro. Flower. He was a
charter member of the Christian Church at Poseyville,
having moved his membership from Old Union. He was loyal to the teachings
of Jesus and loved to talk about his Lord and Savior. He was a reader of
the Christian Standard from its first numbers and looked forward each week to
the day the mail delivered it into his hands.
The wife, Maria, went to her reward almost four years ago.
He leaves to mourn their loss the daughter, India, and son, John, the daughter-in-law,
Dot, and his two grandsons, Donald and Norman.
Brother Boyle has left behind the record of a noble life, that bequeaths to his posterity and enduring source of
good.
