MT VERNON - John C Boyer, 71, a retired pharmacist who owned and operated Boyer's Drug Store in Mt. Vernon for a number of years, died at 5:55 p.m. Friday (18 Apr 1980) at the Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Ill; where he was visiting a sister.

Surviving are his wife, Alice; a son, Gus of San Jose, Calif; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Marie Mattson of Phoenix, Ariz; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Perrine of Zeigler, Ill; who he was visiting; and two grandsons.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at Tygart's Funeral Home with burial in Bellefontaine cemetery.
