JOHN FRANK BELCHER

1945 (8 Jan 1871 – 21 Feb 1945)

John Frank Belcher, 74, of this city, died at 11:15 o'clock Wednesday night at the Gibson General hospital following an illness of several weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Church of God with Rev. John L. Magness officiating.  Burial will be in the White church (Columbia) cemetery.

Mr. Belcher was born in Crawford county near Taswell January 8, 1871.  He had resided in Gibson county 56 years.  He was a member of the Church of God.

Surviving are the widow, Belle Belcher; six children, Mrs. Pearl Byerley, Mrs. Ruth McKeighan, Mrs. Dovie Cros and Golen Belcher of Lawrenceville; Virgil Belcher of Bridgeport and Howard Belcher of Seeleyville; 36 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

The body will remain at the Colvin & Son mortuary where friends may call from Friday afternoon until the hour of the funeral.
