JOSEPH BARRETT

June 26, 1954

Joseph Barrett passed away early Friday (25 Jun 1954) at Union hospital in Terre Haute.  He was a former resident of the Oakland City Community.  He had been in failing health for several years.

Survivors include the wife Cora; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Renchler, of Anderson and DeEtta Barrett of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Juda Cleveland of Evansville; Mrs. Lucy Slifer of Stuttgart, Ark; and Mrs. Ruth Mills of  Atlanta, Ga; three brothers, Hiram of Elk City, Kansas; Will C of Boulder, Colo; and Jack of Witchita, Kansas; two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Thomas funeral chapel at Terre Haute with continued services Monday at 1 p.m. at the Forsythe church near Oakland City with burial in the church cemetery.
