Mrs. Amanda J. Barrett, 82, widow of Dr. C. P. Barrett, a Posey
county and Mt. Vernon physician for many years, died last
night at the home of her daughter, Miss Mildred P. Barrett 718 #34 Street, Indianapolis.
Mrs. Barrett had resided in Indianapolis for the last 30 years. She was
prominent in church affairs during her residence at Oliver and Mt. Vernon. A native of Boonville, Ind., she was a practical nurse and a Pike
county school teacher during her younger years.
The body is at Flanner & Buchanan
Fall Creek Mortuary in Indianapolis where the funeral service will be
conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Bellefontaine cemetery at Mt. Vernon, Ind.
Surviving are the daughter in Indianapolis; two son, Dr. Morris
Barrette, Gary, Ind., and Ivan Barrett, Los Angeles, and one grandson, Robert
Barrett, U.S. Army, Fort Benning, Ga.'
The deceased was a member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.
