Ira Barr, 74, died at the Church Nursing Home at 10:30 p.m. Monday, after an illness of several years.
He was born Dec 24, 1883 at Gentryville, Ill. He moved here from Dale, Ind., and had lived in Princeton since 1926. He was a barber, his shop was located on S. Seminary street.
He was a member of the General Baptist church and the local
Barber's union.
He leaves his wife, Dezza M., three
daughters, Mrs. Ima Jean Johnson, Chicago, Ill., Mrs Pauline Ost, Evansville and Mrs. Clarence Carlisle, Princeton. Two sons, Alton
B. Barr of Chicago and Warren Barr of Princeton. One sister, Mrs.
Dan Rhoads, of Evansville, 14 grandchildren,
five great grandchldren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Wright and Kendall Funeral
Home, the Rev. C. H. Ivy officiating. Burial will be in Garrison Chapel
cemetery in Warrick County. Local barbers will serve as
pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home.
