MARY KATHERINE BARO

Mrs. Mary Katherine Baro, 87 of 503 W. Fourth street, widow of John Baro and a life-long resident of Posey county, died at 1:35 p.m. Monday (3 Oct 1955) at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.

 

Mrs. Baro had been ill for the last year but seriously sick for only a few days.  She entered the hospital three days prior to her death.

 

The body is at the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and will remain there through the funeral service set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Short-Niehaus chapel.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

 

Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, of which the deceased was a member, will be the officiating clergyman.

 

Mrs. Baro was a native of the Wadesville vicinity, a daughter of John Loehr and Margaret Cox Loehr.  She had spent most of her life in Mt. Vernon.

 

The deceased was the head of four generations.

 

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Warren Kishline, Sr; Mt. Vernon, Mrs. John Borup, Morganfield, Ky; and Mrs. Marshall Cowgill, Indianapolis, two sons, John G. Baro, Goshen, Ind and Carl H. Baro, Mt. Vernon; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, John Loehr, Black township, and two sisters, Mrs. David Miller, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Carrie Roberts, Lawrenceville, Ill.
