New Harmony, In Special - John Barnett, 77, a well known retired farmer
of Harmony township, died at noon Wednesday (12 Aug 1953) at the Comfort Nursing Home in Evansville. He had been ill of a complication
of diseases for several months.
The body is at the Shoultz-Werry Funeral
Home here where friends are invited to call. The funeral service will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Shoultz-Werry
chapel by Rev. Theron Castleman,
Poseyville Methodist Church minister. burial will be
in Poseyville cemetery.
Mr. Barnett was a native of Washington county, Ind., but had resided in Posey county for
many years.
Surviving are the wife, Bessie; a son W.G. Barnett, operator of
the Texaco
East Fourth street service station in Mt. Vernon; a daughter Mrs. Martha John Schwarts, Evansville; a brother Claude Barnett, Salem, Ind., and a sister
Mrs. Mary B. Mitchell, Salem, Ind.
