HERMAN ASHWORTH

Herman Ashworth, 82, a well-known retired farmer and a life-time
resident of Posey county of pioneer stock, died at
Ill for the last two years and seriously sick for the last two
months, he entered the nursing home last Friday from his residence at
He had resided in Mt. Vernon for the last two years, coming here
from the Copper Line road vicinity which with the Farmersville locality was the
scene of his farming operations for many years.
The body is at Weisinger Funeral Home
where friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will
be conducted at 2 p.m. thursday
in Weisinger chapel by Primitive Baptist Elder Elmer Fleener, Evansville. Burial will be in Bellefontaine
cemetery.
The deceased was a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church at
Farmersville and Farmersville camp, No. 13130, Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Nora Robb Ashworth; a daughter, Mrs. Starlus Hogan, Farmersville; a son, Henry, Birmingham, Ala;
eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a stepson, Aaron Robb, Mt.
Vernon and three stepdaughters, Mrs Herdis H. Layer and Mrs. George W. Hanshoe,
Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Richard Caldemeyer, Muncie, Ind.
Mr. Ashworth was a son of Moses Ashworth and Mary Allison
Ashworth. He was twice married. His first wife was Anna Stein
Ashworth. She died in 1932. His second marriage was to the widow of
John Robb.
