LYDIA ARMBRUSTER

Miss Lydia Armbruster, 86, last of her generation of a prominent Mt. Vernon family and a woman of finest Christian character, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday (16 Jan 1954) at her home at 733  East Water Street.

While in failing health for some time, she had been seriously ill only a few days.

The body is at the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home and will remain there through the funeral service set for
2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.  The deceased's request that there be no floral offerings was announced by the family.

The officiating clergyman will be Rev. J. Kenneth Forbes, minister of
Fist Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member.  Prior to the merger of the former St. Paul's Methodist and First Methodist Chuches the deceased and her family had been very active members of the St. Paul's congregation.

Miss Armbruster was a life-long residdent of
Mt. Vernon.  Her parents were Barnabas Armbruster and Catherine Haas Armbruster.

She is survived by four nephews, John C. Black, Ira A. Smith and John H Forthoffer,
Mt. Vernon, and Fred Armbruster, Pomona, Calif; and five nieces, Mrs. Samuel E. Davis, Misses Emily and Olive Forthoffer and Miss Ordella Smith, Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Otto A. Welbrenner, Evansville.

MISS ARMBRUSTER FUNERAL TUESDAY
Funeral rites were held Tuesday at the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home at 2 p.m. for Miss Lydia Armbruster, 86, last of her generation of a prominent Mt. Vernon family and a woman of finest Christian character, who died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at her home at 733 East Water street.

While in failing health for some time, she had been seriously ill only a few days.

Burial was in Bellefontaine cemetery.

The officiating clergymen was Rev. J. Kenneth Forbes, minister of first
Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member.  Prior to the merger of the former St. Paul's Methodist and First Methodist Churches the deceased and her family had been very active members of the St. Paul's congregation.
