Emma Geraldine (Kincheloe) Becker, 93, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 in Evansville, IN.

She was born July 8, 1920 in Posey County, IN, to Russell and Opal (Montgomery) Kincheloe.

Jerri was a 1939 graduate of Wadesville High School. She was a homemaker and helped on the family-owned farm in Oliver/Wadesville area. She enjoyed raising her three sons and caring for her grandchildren. She is a member of Mt. Zion General Baptist Church, active historian and enjoys crafts and quilting with other church members with Bee Happy Quilters. She was a past Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Oliver Community Club, past member and leader of the Posey County 4H, and past vice president of the Posey County Extension Homemakers. She authored the Oliver News in the local paper.

Jerri was preceded in death by her father in 1967, mother in 2000, husband in 1999 after 59 years of marriage, her infant son Larry Lee in 1945, and her brother Robert Kincheloe in 2001.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Jerry (Sarah) Becker of Mt. Vernon, Ronald (Marcy) Becker of New Harmony, and Bob (Gayla) Becker of Wadesville, IN; six grandchildren, Scott Becker and fiancé Carol Redman, Dawn (Randy) Martin, Chris (Trinity) Becker, Amy Jo (Jeff) Will, Brad (Alicia) Becker, Jeff (Sabrina) Jones; her thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Brother Russ (Mrytle), Kincheloe Evansville, IN; Sisters: Dodie Babillis, Mt. Vernon, IN and Lucy Saunders, Lake Placid, FL.

The family would like to thank the care and compassion given by Dr. James Rice his nurse Gina, caregivers at West River Health Campus who made her smile and to grandson Scott and his finance’ Carol whom she could always count on.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church 1425 N. Oliver Road Mt. Vernon, IN with Rick Sellers officiating and burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. Mt. Vernon, IN and 10:00 am to service time at the church.
