Rose Marie Wainman, 95, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Mt. Vernon, IN.

She was born November 25, 1917 in Posey County, IN to Joseph and Frances (Fischer) Schwindel.

Rose had worked in the West Elementary School cafeteria for 13 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and loved to quilt and crochet.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Charles Wainman; son, Charles Wainman Jr.; sisters, Lucille Stewart and Ann Baldwin; brothers Richard, Walter, and John Schwindel.

She is survived by her brother, Robert (Genevieve) Schwindel; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 4, 2013 at St. Matthew Catholic Church 421 Mulberry St. in Mt. Vernon with Father Jim Sauer officiating and burial to follow in St. Mathew Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am service time on Friday at the church.
