James
Franklin Potter, 69, of Poseyville, Indiana, born
March 20, 1944, in Livermore, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013,
at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Jim
graduated from Bosse High School in 1962 and retired
from IUOE Local 181 with Southwind/Koester
Construction of Evansville, Indiana.
He is
survived by his wife of 47 years: Yvonne (Bunting); son: Tony (Pagan) Potter of
Albion, Illinois; daughters: Tracy (Darrell) Koch of Princeton, Indiana and
Kelly Shafer of Shawneetown, Illinois; grandchildren:
Ashley Sellers, Landon, Kaci, and Cory Fewkes, Kelsey
Shafer, Logan, Olivia, and Adalynn Potter; and his first great-grandchild: Baby
Sellers, who will be arriving in March 2014. Also surviving are uncles: Jack
and Harvey Marksberry; an aunt: Mildred Crowe; one
niece, and numerous cousins.
He was
preceded in death by his mother: Peggy (Marksberry)
Jeffers and a sister: Marcia Jett.
The family
would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kelly Kling-Tipton and the
6th floor staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center and SouthernCare
Hospice, and especially to his nurses, Lisa and Jason, for their loving care
and compassion to Jim and his family.
Funeral
services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Werry Funeral Home
in Poseyville, Indiana with burial in Graceland
Cemetery in Albion, Illinois.
Visitation
will be 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the funeral home.
