Robert Eugene Gumbel, 69, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013.

He was born February 27, 1944 in Mt. Vernon, IN to August and Mary (Beckam) Gumbel.

Bob was a grain miller at ADM Milling in Mt. Vernon for thirty-eight years and retired in 2001. He was a member of Eagles #1717 and the Moose Lodge. Bob enjoyed riding in the country, watching movies, and spending time with his family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert E. Gumbel Jr. and brother, Don Gumbel.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Linda (Herring) Gumbel; daughter, Gena Beloat of Mt. Vernon; sons, Troy Gumbel and fiancé Anita DeLeon of Evansville, IN, and Shawn Gumbel of Mt. Vernon; sister, Mary Kissel of Mobile, AL; sister-in-law, Judy Gumbel of Mt. Vernon and nieces; three grandchildren, Fawn Delano, Blace and Meagan Gumbel; three great-grandchildren, Aiden and Mason Delano, and Easton Mullis.

Graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, IN with Rev. Jim Stauber officiating.
