Wilma
Laverne Duckworth, 98, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 in
Mt. Vernon, IN.
She was born
September 29, 1915 in Black Township, IN to Earl and Ethel (Wood) Loehr.
Wilma
graduated from Mt. Vernon Senior High School with the class of 1933. She had
worked at Mode O’ Day Clothing Store, the Exylon
Clothing Factory, and Lord Dress Shop. Wilma enjoyed sewing, reading, and
working jig saw puzzles.
Wilma was
preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Kenneth Duckworth; sister,
Marie Thomas; brother, William Beuford Loehr; son-in-law George Bud Robinson.
She is
survived by her daughter, Beth Ann Robinson; son, David E. (Darlene) Duckworth;
sister, Janice McLeod; five grandchildren, Lori (Steve) Holder, Keith (Melinda)
Robinson, Jeff (Marsha) Robinson, Devon Duckworth, Drew Duckworth; and six
great-grandchildren, Taylor (Josh) Wagner, Izaac,
Hollie, and Jake Robinson, Luke and Kyle Holder; and niece and nephew.
Services
will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Schneider Funeral Home
512 Main St. Mt. Vernon, IN with Rev. Nancy Johnston officiating and burial to
follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday, October 14, 2013 at the funeral
home.
