Billy D. Staples, 81, passed away August 12, 2013.

Bill was born January 11, 1932 in Whitesville, KY to Otis and Lorena Staples.

Even though he had not lived in Kentucky since he was a young boy he remained an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. Bill started working at Farm Bureau Oil Company when he was 17 years old washing trucks and retired 47 years later as the supt. of the pipeline division.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Wanda R. Staples.

Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 63 years, Virginia (Stein) Staples. Also his sons, Mark (Lisa) and Doug (Julie); seven grandchildren, Amanda (Codey), Allison (Tim), Danielle (Justin), Jennifer, Brittany (Dustin), Kasey, and Trey; nine great-grandchildren, Ty, Ava, Madison, Lily, Cassie, Remington, Robert, Gradey, Becca; and cousin Joyce Stevens.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. Mt. Vernon.
