Eugene Paul Marcum, 77, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at New Harmonie Healthcare in New Harmony.

He was born November 23, 1935 in Irvine, KY to J. Robert and Laura (Berryman) Marcum.

Gene was a Union Ironworker, he tuned and restored pianos, and had been an evangelist. He also recorded and produced two albums of songs he had written.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty Jo and Irene; brothers, Linville, Donald, and Robert Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lueder Marcum; son, Jeff Marcum and his fiancée Lisa of Evansville; brother, Eddie (Elizabeth) Marcum of Dayton, OH; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday August 31, 2013 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. in Mt. Vernon with Bro. Mark Tabor officiating and burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
