Faye Cole, 74, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Evansville, IN.

She was born May 24, 1939 in Posey County, IN to Lloyd and Jewell (Chandler) Brown.

Faye graduated with the class of 1957 and worked in the Mt. Vernon High School cafeteria for 31 years. She was a member of Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church where she was in the JOY Sunday school class and was a member of the Elderberries. Faye loved to cook, watch Cardinal baseball, and spend time with her family and church family. She was the 2009 Relay for Life Courage Award winner in Posey County.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ansel Cole.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna F. (Mike) Allyn; two sons, Rodney Cole and Danny (Leona) Cole; two brothers, Marvin (Judy) Brown and her twin brother Ray (Betty) Brown; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Josh, David, and Nathaniel Cole, and Louis, Lindsey, and Lacey Allyn; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Mt. Vernon General Baptist 1717 N. Main St. in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Matt Watson and Rev. Curt Mort officiating and burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. Mt. Vernon.
