David Lee Herring, 64, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his residence.

He was born April 12, 1949 in Mt. Vernon, IN to Alex and Alice (Briener) Herring.

He was preceded in death by his parents. David served in the Marines and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a welder and had resided in Odessa, TX from 1980 to 2012.

David is survived by his sisters; Nathalie Miller and Linda Gumbel both of Mt. Vernon, IN and brother Tim Herring of Henderson, KY and nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 19, 2013 at Bellefontaine Cemetery with military honors provided by Owen Dunn Post #5.
