Owen Fredrick Englebright, 80, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.

He was born November 27, 1932 in Wadesville, IN to Norman and Edna (Wade) Englebright.

Owen served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a 1951 graduate of Haubstadt High School and attended Evansville College. Owen worked at the Whirlpool Corporation for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Trinity UCC, American Legion Post #5, Eagles, Moose, Cynthiana Masonic Lodge #710, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, Mt. Vernon Conservation Club, Sword of Bunker Hill, and the Mt. Vernon Boat Club. He enjoyed boating.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Englebright.

Owen is survived by his wife, Betty (Schnack) Englebright; daughter, Melanie (Leonard) Will of Poseyville, IN; son, Randal (Joy) Englebright of Cynthiana; sisters, Colleen McClasky and Helen (William) Willett; brothers, Tom (Betty L.) Englebright, and Jimmy (Pat) Englebright; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 19, 2013 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Cynthia Priem officiating with burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the funeral home.
