Jennie Barbara Benner, 102, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born November 28, 1910 in Marrs Township, Posey County to Joseph and Louisa (Koch) Müller.

Jennie was a member of the Eagles, Moose, Owls, American Legion Auxiliary and Riverbend Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, caring for her grandchildren, and quilting and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Malcolm Benner in 1976; son, Lee Roy Benner; two sisters and four brothers.

Jennie is survived by her daughter, Anna L. Hall Downen of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, Tommy Ray Hall, Judy (Frank) Riecken, Connie (Jim) Hendrix, Terry (Julie) Benner, Brett (Amber) Benner; great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren,daughter in law Delores Benner and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. in Mt. Vernon with Father Ted Tempel officiating and burial to follow in St. Mathew Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
