Cathy Jo (Railey)
Behler, 43, of Westfield, Ind., formerly of Lafayette and Lebanon, passed away at 6:55 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born November 27,
1969 in Evansville, Ind., she was the daughter of Sue (Tyson) Railey of Mount Vernon, Ind., and the late Gerald Railey.
Cathy was a 1988 graduate of Mount Vernon Senior
High School
where she was the Salutatorian of her class. She earned her Bachelor of Arts
degree in Chemistry from Scripps University, her Engineering Degree from Harvey Mudd in Pamona, California, and her Masters degree in Environmental Engineering
at Purdue University. She also took classes at Columbia University. She most recently worked for Delphi
in Kokomo as a project manager.
Cathy married Brett A. Behler in Lafayette on September 29, 2001.
She enjoyed spending time
with her kids, sewing and crocheting, and was an avid reader and Purdue
Football fan. Cathy was a life long learner.
Surviving with her mother and
husband are her two children, Nicholas L. Behler and
Henry C. Behler both at home, sister Julie Kissinger
(husband, Jim) of Mount Vernon, Ind., and brother Bo Railey
(wife, Stephanie) of Brownsburg, Ind., father-in-law Fran Behler,
brother-in-law Todd Behler, sister-in-law Kristy Behler and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her mother-in-law Ann Behler.
Visitation was held from 5
until 8
p.m. Thursday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bo Railey officiating.
Burial followed at St.
Boniface Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a college fund set up
for her children at IFCU on Sagamore
