Paula K. Claspell, age 56 of Mt. Vernon, died Monday evening April 8, 2013 at Deaconess Hospice after a brave fight with cancer during the last year.

She was born November 15, 1956 in Evansville, the daughter of John and Patricia (Satterfield) Barr. 

Paula worked at Boetticher and Kellogg, Computers By Design and American General. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of the Nazarene. 

Paula was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ted and Edith Satterfield and Paul and Mable Barr. 

She is survived by her parents, John and Pat Barr of Evansville; 1 son, David Claspell of Mt. Vernon and 4 grandchildren that she loved so much; 1 brother, Gary Barr of Evansville; a very special aunt Carolyn Pool of Norris City; 2 uncles, Ron and Joan and Rev. Ted and Judy Satterfield and several cousins. 

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 13, 2013 at the Mt Vernon Church of the Nazarene at 432 W. 5th St. with Pastor Myers Hyman officiating.
