River Ashlynn Deig, passed peacefully while in her daddy’s arms on March 7, 2013 at Duke University hospital in NC from complications of MIOP – Malignant Infantile Osteo Petrosis.

She had a bone marrow transplant on January 16, 2013 in hopes of surviving this rare bone disease.

River was born on December 17, 2012.

River was a beautiful baby that touched many lives around the world. Anyone that met her fell in love with her. She quickly fell in love with country music.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Avery Addison Deig.

River is survived by her parents, Josh and Summer (Simpson) Deig; grandparents, Keith and Letha Deig all of Mt. Vernon; Buddy and Vicki Simpson of Wadesville; uncle, Alex Deig of Mt. Vernon; aunt, Ashley (Simpson) and Jason Martin; cousins, Cody, Tristan, and Trace Martin all of St. Wendel.

Private services will be held at Immanuel United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
