James R. Roberts, 82, of New Harmony, Indiana born August 27, 1930 to Dorsey J. and Edna C. (Rice) Roberts in Mt. Vernon, Indiana died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Deaconess Hospice in Evansville, Indiana.

He was a Korean War Veteran and received the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife: Joyce Samples Roberts of New Harmony; 2 sons: Randy Roberts of New Harmony, Indiana and James Roberts of Morris Illinois; 2 daughters: Georgia Forzley of Poseyville, Indiana and Crystal McCammond of Plainfield, Illinois; a sister: Esther Stone of Stewartsville, Indiana and a brother: Louis Roberts of Enfield, Illinois; 10 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Kathy Lynn and Kristy Elaine Roberts.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 at Werry Funeral Home, New Harmony Chapel with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Indiana.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the funeral home.
