Sharon Elaine Reising, 58, of Poseyville, Indiana, born to Warner and Lorena (Joest) Reising on August 2, 1954, in Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at New Harmonie Healthcare in New Harmony, Indiana.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and enjoyed dancing, swimming and playing cards. Sharon was the #1 fan of Marlo Thomas and The Sound of Music. She attended McDonald Hopeland in Evansville, Indiana and Posey County Rehabilitation Services. She also was a frequent volunteer at several organizations in the Jasper, Indiana area. She participated in the Special Olympics and had received many medals.

Surviving are a brother: James (Linda) Reising of Poseyville, Indiana; a sister: Jeanne (Michael) Maher of Carmel, Indiana; 2 nieces: Hope (Michael) Staubitz of St. Wendel, Indiana and Megan (James) Owens of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; a nephew: Kevin (Erin) Maher of Raleigh, North Carolina; great nephews and a niece: Reid Staubitz, Ben and Emma Owens; special caregivers: Sister Beata Mehling and Lillian Parks.

A special thanks to the staffs at New Harmonie Healthcare, St. Mary’s and Deaconess Hospitals and Southern Care Hospice.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Poseyville, Indiana, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2013, at Werry Funeral Home, Poseyville Chapel with a Memorial/Prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
