Lois S. Bottorf, 85, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013. She was born on June 15, 1927.

She was a 1945 graduate of Williamsport High School in PA. Lois volunteered as a Pink Lady and then went on to be a clerk for Welborn Hospital. She then continued to volunteer at Welborn Clinic. Lois enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved her dogs.

She is preceded in death by her son in law, W. Scott Gerth; former husband, R. Neil Bottorf; brother, Jack Stapp; sisters, Lorraine Richardson, Beverly Williams.

Lois is survived by her children, Scott Bottorf and Susan Gerth; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pine Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation as well as Heritage Hospice for their loving care of Lois.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2012 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. in Mt. Vernon.
