Bobby E. “Bob” Davis, 77, of Mt. Vernon, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was born in Eldorado, IL on September 13, 1935 to Walter and Lodella (Curry) Davis.

Bob served in the Navy where he worked as a Firefighter. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Conservation Club, National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father; and his son, Stephen Davis. Bob is survived by his wife Majoria “Joyce” (Erwin) Bush Davis; sons, Bryan Davis (Linda) and Duane Bush (Karla) all of Saline, MI; daughter, Marcy Ruff (Tom) of Wildwood, MO; mother, Lodella Brown; grandchildren, Douglas Davis, Kaegan, McKayla, Elsie, Logan, and Landon Bush, Brittany Ruff and Emily Jameson; brothers, Walter Davis Jr.(Angie) of Boonville, James Davis (Ann) of Carmi, IL; sisters, Jeanie Lutz (Rick) of Chandler, Shelly Turner of Vienna, IL, and Seth Ann Chastain (Kevin) of Wayne City, IL; brother and sister in law, Bump and Beep McGennis; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday November 7, 2012 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. in Mt. Vernon with burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the funeral home.
