James R. Cox, 71, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Evansville, IN.

He was born May 17, 1941 in Mt. Vernon, IN.

He worked at Whirlpool for 32 years and was a union steward for Local 808. He was a member of the River City Dancers, Eagles Country Club, and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in St. Phillips.

He was preceded by parents, Chester & Hazel Cox and sister, Bonnie Green.
James is survived by his wife, Geneva (Weisling) Cox, Evansville; sons, Rodney Cox (Janice), Evansville, Jeffrey Cox (Darcy), Evansville, John Cox, Evansville; daughter, Cheryl Basham (Harold), Evansville; grandchildren, Jason Cox, Jeremey Cox, Jessica Cox, Joshua Cox, Brooklynn Cox, Dylan Cox, Alix Cox, Maddison Cox, Evan Cox; great-grandchildren, Avery, Austyn, Jordan; brothers, Chester Cox, Kenneth Cox, and David Cox.

Services will be 11:00AM, Monday, November 5, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Randy Owen with burial in St. Paul's United Methodist Church Cemetery, St. Phillips Road.

Friends may visit, Sunday, November 4, 2012, from 2:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
