Robert “Bob” Charles Babillis, 72 of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Betty Charlier Hospice Center.

He was born in Pittsfield, MA on Oct 22th, 1940 to Alexander and Viola Babillis.

He grew up in the Massachusetts area and attended University of Massachusetts where he earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He went on to earn his Masters of Chemical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute. Upon graduation he moved to Mt. Vernon, IN and started his 30 year career with General Electric. Bob was a member of the Lake Placid, Florida Elks lodge. He enjoyed playing hockey and golf, driving convertibles, doing crossword puzzles and spending winters at his Lake Placid, Fl home.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dodie; his sons; Eric (Angie) of St. Phillips, IN and Brian (Kelly) of Granite City, IL; Stepsons, Davin and Danin Breeze of Mt. Vernon, IN; 8 grandchildren; and his brother, Richard Babillis of Pagosa Springs, CO.

Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. in Mt. Vernon with Fr. James Blessinger officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Monday, November 26th at Schneider Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and continued from 9am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
