Betty J. Marvel, 84, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Tell City, Ind.

She was born in Evansville, Ind., on Feb. 18, 1928, to Garris and Bernice (Bozarth) Freeman.

On November 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Marvel, Jr., who preceded her in death earlier this year. She is also preceded in death by a son, Larry Marvel, a grandson, Joshua Marvel and her parents.

Surviving is her daughter, Peggy Martin and husband, Tim of Tell City, Ind.; grandchildren, Jason Martin, Jeff Martin and wife, Windy, Justin Martin and wife, Kristen; six great grandchildren, Cole, Chase, Isabella, Miley and Macy Martin and Logan Marvel.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Pacific, Mo.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, from 3-8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
