Jody Carl, 81, of Poseyville, Indiana, born to Joe and Norma (Millar) Saxe on February 16, 1931, in Edwards County, Illinois, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

She and her husband Chod farmed in Posey County, Indiana. Jody also worked for the Posey County Co-Op Grain Elevator until retiring in 1993. She enjoyed music, cooking, flowers, genealogy and spending time with her family and the family pet, Murphy. She was an active member of Old Union Christian Church.

She is survived by her son: Dane and his wife Pam (Orth) Carl of Wadesville, Indiana; daughter: Gayla and her husband Bob Becker of Wadesville, Indiana; son: Tom Carl of Poseyville, Indiana; grandsons: Zackery Carl of Poseyville, Indiana and Damon and his wife Elissa (Travers) Carl and their son Noah of Avon, Indiana; granddaughters: Kalina Carl of Poseyville, Indiana, Misty (Carl) and her husband Doug Mauck and their daughters Melissa and Maya of Poseyville, Indiana and Amy (Becker) and her husband Jeff Will and their daughter Hannah and son Clay of Wadesville, Indiana; brother: Gene Saxe of Denver, Colorado; sisters: Sandra Almon of Mt. Vernon, Indiana and Ann Winkleman of Wadesville, Indiana; sisters-in-law: Sue Saxe of Poseyville, Indiana, Betty Scott of Washington, Indiana, Loretta Dunlap of New Harmony, Indiana, Marjilee Anderson of Speedway, Indiana and Janice Yancy of Tyler, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband: Chod Carl; son: Steve Carl and brother: Dave Saxe.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Old Union Christian Church north of Poseyville, Indiana with Pastor Baret Fawbush officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Griffin, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 3–8 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012, at Werry Funeral Home, Poseyville Chapel, and again from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
