The death of Johnny Lang, which occurred at the home of
George Ries Last Thursday at 4 o’clock, p.m., came as a shock to both friends
and relatives. John, who was suffering
with heart failure, appeared to be improving in health, when the end came so
unexpected. He was born February 18th,
1887 into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lang, who died while he was young
and leaving him in the care of his friends.
He was converted and joined the German M.E. church at the
Santa Claus Camp Meeting in August 1902, which faith he remained true to until
his death.
Johnnie’s pleasant way and cheerful disposition made him
friends wherever he went. Three sisters
and two brothers are left to mourn his untimely death. The funeral took place from the home of Mr.
Ries last Friday, Rev. Helwig in charge after which
the body was interred in the family cemetery.
