This Indenture,
made this twenty third day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and forty five between George Wilkins and Icey Tissa his wife of
the County of Parke and State of Indiana of the first part and Justin Hale of
the County of Parke and State of Indiana of the second part, Witnesseth that the said party of the first
part for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to the said
party of the first part by the party of the second part in hand paid the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by
these presents doth grant bargain sell and convey unto the said party of the
second apart all the following described piece or parcel of land situated lying
and being in said county and known and designated as the East fraction of the
North wWst quarter of section six (6) in Township sixteen (16) North of Range
Eight (8) West, except twenty acres off the North East corner of said fraction
to be laid off forty acres east and west and eighty rods, north and south, the
said tract hereby conveyed contains sixty acres more or less. To have and to
hold the above described premises with all the appurtenances to the same
belonging to the said party of the second apart his heirs and assigns
forever. And the said party of the first
apart for themselves and their heirs, do hereby covenant with the said party of
the second part and his heirs that they are lawfully seized in fee of the
premises aforesaid that the premises are free and clear of all encumbrances
whatsoever and that they will forever warrant and defend them against the
lawful claim of all persons whatsoever.
In witness whereof the said George Wilkins and Icey Tissa Wilkins his
wife who hereby relinquishes her right of ... to the above described premises
