Welcome!

My name is Darlene Anderson and I am the person responsible for the Owen County InGenWeb Project webpage. Please contact me if you would like to contribute to this database or if you have suggestions or comments. If you are interested in being an INGenWeb County Coordinator, then visit the Orphan Counties Site or contact our State Coordinator, Debra Beheler or Assistant State Coordinator, Sharon Craig or Assistant State Coordinator Katy Hestand.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

History

In June, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Indiana Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Indiana, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.
